Artist in Residence

Kirsty Kross at Artist in Residence, Kristiansand

«My work deals mostly with humans’ responses to the climate crisis which is one of the greatest challenges humanity has ever faced. I have been creating the Coral Trout series of works since 2012. The Coral Trout- a fish from the endangered Great Barrier Reef (that refers to my identity as an artist) engages with the attention economy by creating desperate, yet ambiguous stunts which aim to gain and maintain attention.»

Born in Brisbane, Australia, now based in Oslo, Norway. Graduated from Masters of Art in Context, Universität der Künste, Berlin in 2012. More information at https://kirstykross.com
