Matilde Westavik Gaustad work with tapestry and video, both as standalone pieces and in spatial installations. She focuses on the peculiar and sometimes unsettling aspects of the relationship between humans, animals, and technology.

Gaustad completed her Master of Fine Art from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 2016 and now lives in Trondheim. She has recently exhibited at Telemark Kunstsenter, Kristiansund Kunsthall, Kunsthall Trondheim, Hannah Ryggen Triennale 2022 and RAM Galleri.
